Tomorrow I’m hoping I’ll be in Bogota, Colombia…and I will, if things go according to plan. I think my big backpack is 
currently weighing in at around 35 pounds (~16kg), and my smaller one is about 12 pounds (yes, the smaller one weighs half what the bigger one weighs, but is less than half the size. It is crammed with electronics, camera, a change of clothes,snacks, and toiletries that I might use in the airport and on the plan. I wish they were lighter, but I honestly don’t know how I can make it lighter without leaving something important out. If I weren’t such a photo buff, I could leave out one of my cameras and all its accessories, but for me part of the fun of traveling is documenting it on film (well digital pixels anyway). I’d rather leave out a pair of shoes or an extra pair of pants if I can get more photo stuff in. I have my accommodations already paid for in Colombia, Ecuador, most of Peru, part of Bolivia and some of Argentina. I know where I’ll be most of the time, so let’s get going. I have only 3 hours to go before I leave for Charlotte.
[one of the things that excites me most about leaving from Charlotte is that I get to go to Cook-out, and have a cappuccino milkshake, hamburger, corn-dog, and french fries before I leave. I haven't been to Cook-out since I moved back to SC, and maybe its sad that that is one of the things I am looking forward to most.]
